City Hall News: Week of May 9, 2022

Meeting next week are the Elkins Water Board and council’s Public Safety Committee and Personnel Committee. City hall is closed Tuesday for the West Virginia Primary Election, but trash will be collected on the usual schedule.

The Public Safety Committee meets Monday at 10 a.m. The committee will review two proposed grant applications, one to the U.S. DOJ’s Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program and one to the U.S. DOT’s Smart City Challenge.

The Personnel Committee meets Thursday at 12 p.m. There are two new business items, a reclassification request for an Operations Department employee and a review of services provided by AlignHR, the city’s human resources contractor.

The Elkins Water Board holds a special meeting Thursday at 3 p.m. Agenda items include the FY 2023 Water Fund budget, planning for maintenance and replacement of the water treatment plant’s membrane filters, a proposed contract for IT services at the water treatment plant with Dewaine Corley (C-Com), and a water/wastewater needs assessment.

All meetings are open to the public and, unless otherwise stated, held at Elkins City Call (401 Davis Avenue). Find agendas and other meeting information here: www.cityofelkinswv.com/council-and-committee-meetings.
