City Hall News: Week of July 18, 2022

Meeting this week are the Elkins Sanitary Board, the Elkins Planning Commission, and the Elkins Historic Landmarks Commission. Also meeting is council’s Finance Committee and ad hoc Organizational Audit Committee.

The Sanitary Board meets Monday at 10 a.m. Agenda items include a reimbursement request from a Davis Street resident, discussion of a check valve installation for a Davis Street resident, discussion of a policy for installation of check valves, and consideration of the board’s employee take-home vehicle policy.

Also on Monday, the Planning Commission holds a public hearing and meeting at 7 p.m. The purpose is to hear and consider action on public comments on proposed amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan necessitated by the proposed zoning law that council is now considering. At its meeting Tuesday at 1 p.m., the Organizational Audit Committee will work on the structure of the building inspector/code enforcement position.

The Historic Landmarks Commission meets Tuesday at 4 p.m., in the Darden House (next to city hall). There are no new business items.

Meeting in special session Wednesday at 12 p.m., the Finance Committee considers the compensation level of the city treasurer.
