City Hall News: Week of August 29, 2022
Meeting this week are the Elkins Water Board and the Elkins Common Council.
The Water Board meets in special session Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. The agenda has not yet been posted and may be adjusted through Monday. One agenda item will be the water-rate increase that the board is recommending to council.
Council meets Thursday at 7 p.m. This agenda has also not yet been posted; it may be adjusted through Tuesday. Known agenda items are three ordinances implementing recently granted home-rule authorities: raising the maximum age for new civil-service firefighters from 35 to 40; implementing a Municipal Court Administrative Fee of $45; and implementing a Municipal Court Technology Fee of $10. This meeting will also see the first reading of an ordinance that would raise water rates for all customers.
