City Hall News: Week of Dec. 6, 2021
Meeting this week are council’s Finance Committee, Rules & Ordinances Committee, and Personnel Committee. The Elkins Planning Commission holds a public forum on its proposed zoning update Tuesday.
The Finance Committee meets Monday at 10 a.m. on an agenda that includes discussion of compensation level for the next operations manager, proposed purchase of a new radar speed sign by EPD, and various budget revisions.
On Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Phil Gainer Community Center, the Planning Commission will present information about and hear public input on the latest draft of its proposed zoning code at a public forum with a question-and-answer period. More here: www.cityofelkinswv.com/zoning-update.
On Wednesday at 9 a.m., the Rules & Ordinances Committee will discuss downtown sidewalk ownership, parking in alleys, and a proposed change to the city law regulating outdoor burning.
Meeting Thursday at 12 p.m., the Personnel Committee will take up changes to the personnel policy concerning holiday closures and the compensation of the interim operations manager.
Fire & Rescue Service Fee payments for customers living outside of city limits are due Monday to avoid penalty.
To avoid shutoff, overdue utility accounts must be brought up to date before Tuesday. Bills can be paid online, via U.S. mail, via the secure payment box behind city hall, or at the front counter in city hall. More here: www.bit.ly/ElkinsUtilityBilling.
