City Hall News: Week of Feb. 21, 2022
Meeting this week are council’s Municipal Properties Committee and Finance Committee. Also meeting are the Elkins Water Board and the Elkins Sanitary Board. City hall is closed Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day; trash will be collected on the normal schedule.
The Sanitary Board meets Tuesday at 2 p.m. Agenda items include consideration of several known issues related to existing manholes, wastewater lines, and other infrastructure components; the requested replacement of the treatment plant’s clarifier return pump; a proposal to relocate the city’s recycling drop-off site; and consideration of a proposal for a citywide assessment of infrastructure improvement needs.
Later Tuesday, at 4 p.m. the Water Board meets on an agenda that includes consideration of a proposal for citywide assessment of infrastructure improvement needs and discussions of utility payments, meter reading, and compliance with lead and copper regulations.
The Municipal Properties Committee meets Wednesday at 9 a.m. to discuss the sale of surplus EPD vehicles to another department. The committee will also review proposed grant applications by the Kump Education Center and the Elkins Historic Landmarks Commission. These items will then also be reviewed by the Finance Committee at its 1 p.m. Thursday meeting.
Utility bill and in-city Fire & Rescue Service Fee payments are due Tuesday.
