City Hall News: Week of March 28, 2022
Meeting this week are the Elkins Historic Landmarks Commission and council’s Municipal Properties Committee and ad hoc ARPA Advisory Committee.
Street Department personnel will be trimming trees overhanging the public right-of-way on multiple city streets starting Monday at 7 a.m., weather permitting. These streets are scheduled for paving work in April. The purpose of the tree trimming is to remove branches that might otherwise become caught on heavy paving equipment and be snapped or torn loose from the tree, causing damage.
The Historic Landmarks Commission meets Monday at 4 p.m. to elect officers. The commission will also discuss the memorandum of understanding with the City of Elkins and a Randolph County Development Authority project.
The ARPA Advisory Committee meets Tuesday at 10 a.m. On the agenda are funding requests from the Street Department and the Elkins Water Board. Also on the agenda is a request for funds for the design phase of the riverfront development project.
On Wednesday at 9 a.m., the Municipal Properties Committee meets to discuss Darden House issues, including rentals and repairs.
All meetings are open to the public and, unless otherwise stated, held at Elkins City Call (401 Davis Avenue). Find agendas and other meeting information here: www.cityofelkinswv.com/council-and-committee-meetings.
