City Hall News: Week of March 7, 2022
Meeting next week are council’s Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, and Ad Hoc ARPA Advisory Committee. The Elkins Planning Commission also meets next week.
The Mayor’s Task Force on Addiction and Homelessness will convene two Addressing Stigma training sessions, one in-person and one virtual. The virtual session will be on Tuesday, March 8 at 12 p.m. The in-person training will be held at the Phil Gainer Community Center on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. More information, including how to register: www.cityofelkinswv.com/addressing-stigma.
At 10 a.m. on Monday, the Finance Committee will consider the proposed 2022 paving budget and work on the overall FY 2023 general fund budget, including review of contributions requested by outside organizations. On Thursday at 12 p.m., the Personnel Committee will discuss holiday pay, longevity pay, and proposed changes to the compensation and classification plan.
The ARPA Advisory Committee meets Thursday at 1 p.m. to consider proposed uses of ARPA funds by the Elkins Sanitary Board, the Elkins Parks and Recreation Commission, and Davis Health System. This is not the meeting where community proposals will be reviewed; that meeting is scheduled for March 22.
